Mahindra BE 6e & XEV 9e : Mahindra has confirmed to launch its new electric SUVs — BE 6e and the XEV 9e — on November 26, 2024. Both the models are from Mahindra’s newly introduced “Born Electric” range and built on the advanced INGLO platform, which is intended to use innovative technology, sustainability and performance.
Battery and Range Details
There will be two battery offering — 60 kWh and 79 kWh on the Mahindra BE 6e & XEV 9e. And it will include these setups, which should provide great ranges. The XEV 9e in its larger 79 kWh battery form is expected to close in on the 450 km range mark (WLTP cycle). With a range of between 400 and 500 miles, these SUVs are viable choices for long-distance commutes or road trips, keeping the vehicles in the game with the ambitious growing EV market.
Power and Performance
The Vicat family of EVs are both powered by election motors that are from Valeo, focuses on efficiency as well as achieving performance. Referred to as a sportier model, the BE 6e is designed for bold looks and lively driving performance. At the same time, the Mahindra BE 6e & XEV 9e attempts to bring together luxury and utility in a package that is more like a coupe version of the popular XUV700 powered purely by an electric powertrain. Powering it is likely to provide a RWD ending setup that is normal and refined for the driving.
Charging Infrastructure
The INGLO platform has ultra-fast charging capabilities, which Mahindra has included in its specifications. All models support DC fast charging, while the battery can be recharged to 80% in less than 30 minutes at a quick-charge station, although timing will vary based on the output of the charging station. These kinds of features match the global EV trends where it makes a difference in time when drivers have access to fast chargers.
Design and Technology
The Mahindra BE 6e & XEV 9e are the quintessential future car, with futuristic styling and bluff aero looks paired with tech-savvy cabins. The BE 6e is expected to be priced from around ₹18-22 lakh, making it a relatively affordable proposition in Mahindra’s electric range. Meanwhile, the more premium XEV 9e is expected to be priced ₹30-40 lakh. The price points will see Mahindra pitted against mass-market EV and even luxury ones.
